Mommy and Lily day

On Saturday James had to work most of the day so he dropped Ellia off with my Mom and I took Lily with me on a hike to a winery and farm called Cooper Garrod in the Saratoga hills. This was arranged by some of my friends at work for all of our families and unfortunately since James had to work and the trail is not accessible for strollers I opted not to take Ellia and make it a Lily and Mommy day.

We joined my friend Alison and her husband Michael with their daughter Emily (Elomee according to Lily) and her two friends, they are all 10.  Raelene and her husband Jason and their 7 month old daughter Belle, and our friend Michael who had the job of carrying Lily on his shoulders for about 80% of the trip.

Its 2.5 miles from the parking lot to the winery and Lily did great, walked with the big girls or hitched a ride on me or Michael. Once we got to the winery we were able to see a few ponies right away followed by two stables full of horses. The girls were able to pet all the horses and have free range of the farm while us adults did a little wine tasting followed by a picnic with wine and munchies. Great company, great weather, and Lily was such a good girl. It was the first time we've gone somewhere, especially since having Ellia, that I've been able to sit and relax with the adults because Lily was playing with the other kids, she was such a big girl.

I'm looking forward to Ellia being older and being able to take her on outings like this, and James too of course since he missed out!
